Linux User Groups have been around since Linux all began for the general public back in the early 1990's. We are groups of technology professionals, enthusiasts and hobbyists who enjoy working with Linux based and open source technologies that use or rely on the Linux kernel.
The East Bay Linux User Group is intended to provide a close proximity for those enthusisasts who live between San Francisco and Silicon Valley who wish to participate once a month with other people who are also Linux and open source enthusiasts. All meetings are free and food and refreshments are provided by our host Hurricane Electric.
There are no membership fees or dues required to become a member and participation is strictly voluntary. Joining EBLUG is as simple as coming to a meeting or participating in IRC chat or mailing list discussion. Any participation regardless of how great or small qualifies a person as a member.
